IMPLICIT BIAS & STEREOTYPE THREAT: Insights into Lab Performance

Description: Animals, including humans, create stereotypes in order to categorize stimuli in the world around us. But stereotypes are often too general and can result in prejudice or biases. Come test for your own biases, explore effects of perceived bias on performance, and consider strategies to overcome biases and their effects.

VALUES AFFIRMATIONS: Skills to Navigate Complex Environments

Description: Research abstracts provide brief summaries of the background, purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of research projects. They appear simple but can be challenging to prepare. This workshop will introduce or review helpful pointers and practice with writing research abstracts. Bring a draft if you have one.

DRAFT POSTER REVIEW

Description: Practice makes perfect. And editing helps, too. A draft of your poster (two copies, printed on 8.5 X 11 paper) is required for this workshop, where we will engage in peer review and discuss professional pointers to maximize your poster quality.
