IMSD Diversity and Inclusion Lunch & Learn and Diversity in the Workplace
In an effort to provide some answers to your anonymous feedback and questions from last semester’s Diversity in the Workplace workshop, the IMSD program has partnered with Georgia State’s Office of Diversity Education Planning to plan a lunch and learn event called “Managing Yourself and Others in a Diverse Workplace: Bias and Microaggressions.” The workshop will be led by Mr. John Day, the Director of Diversity Education Planning. Mr. Day has provided learners with articles for discussion and future reference, all of which are linked below and can be accessed from within the Resources page.
Articles for Discussion:
5 Tips to Handle Microaggressions Effectively-1inox7a
6 Ways to Respond to Sexist Microaggressions in Everyday Conversations-118f39h
7-Racial-Microagressions-in-Everyday-Life-19xxpe2
Microaggressions-CUPA-CIC-Microaggressions Table-274y6fl
Bring your own lunch and join in on an important discussion about diversity and inclusion, implicit and explicit biases, and how to handle microaggressions. This workshop was designed with IMSD students in mind, but all interested Georgia State STEM students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
Please RSVP to awhite84@student.gsu.edu if you plan to attend.
