Mr. Zhiqiang Cai was a research assistant professor at The University of Memphis. He has a Master of Science in Computational Mathematics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. Before he came to the United States, he had taught computational mathematics in universities for 16 years.  His current research interests are computational linguistics, text analysis, and intelligent tutoring systems. He is the chief designer and developer of QUAID, Coh-Metrix, AutoTutor, Meta-Tutor, and Operation ARIES (ARA). His role in the CSAL project is designing and developing software tools to help adult learners.
