Dr. Murray Singer is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Manitoba. He is an internationally recognized authority in the fields of language comprehension, inference processes, memory, and computational modelling. He is author of about 100 research articles and a book on these topics and he co-edited another volume. His research has been supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada for over 40 years. Dr. Singer is a fellow of numerous societies, including the American Psychological Association, Association for Psychological Science, and the Psychonomic Society; and is a Charter Fellow of the Society for Text and Discourse. He was recognized in 2007 as Faculty of Arts Professor of the Year at the University of Manitoba. He has served as President of the Canadian Society for Brain, Behaviour, and Cognitive Science and as Editor of the Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology. He has been an invited speaker in many countries; and has served as visiting professor at Stanford University and at the Universities of Colorado, California – San Diego, and British Columbia.
