Dear Rhet/ Comp Friends,

On Tuesday last week we had a great discussion about C’s proposals for the 2015 conference in Tampa, Fl.  It was a good time hearing everyone’s ideas and getting a chance to try and articulate our own.  We were especially grateful to hear advice from our experienced faculty members: Dr. Beth Burmester, Dr. Mary Hocks, Dr. Ashley Holmes, and Dr. George Pullman.

We discussed a few resources that we would like to share here:

(1) We have started a Google calendar of conference proposal due dates.  Please look out for an invitation to see the calendar (or check for it on the Rhet/Comp site soon). We need help adding other important conferences to it, so please feel free to edit it if you know of some.

​(3) Check the “Conferences” area on the Resources page of the website for handouts by Dr. Burmester for tips on writing conference proposals/papers and for a list of popular conferences in Rhetoric and Composition.

Also, be on the look out for another blog announcement about completing an online survey. We would like to gather your input on possible events for next year and how we might proceed from here.
