Dr. Kelly is a Senior Lecturer of Psychology at Georgia State University. He earned his B.A. from Catholic University of America in 2005, his M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Georgia Tech in 2007, and his PhD in Cognitive Aging from Georgia Tech in 2012. He was previously a faculty member at Georgia Gwinnett College. His research examines developmental changes in various forms of memory including prospective and episodic memory. He also conducts research on instructional methods and designs that can increase student retention of information in and out of the classroom. He regularly teaches Introductory Psychology, Writing in Psychology, Research Methods, and various courses in the domain of cognitive psychology.

Dr. Kelly received the Richard M. Griffith Memorial Award from the Southern Society for Philosophy and Psychology (SSPP) in 2015 and a Society for the Teaching of Psychology Early Career Travel Grant. He also received an Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award Nomination in 2012 and again in 2014. He served as the Psychology Program Chair for the 2016 meeting of the SSPP.
