Bennett Foddy is notorious for making frustrating, difficult games that get players excited and angry. In this session, we will play his games QWOP, GIRP, and Getting Over It in order to understand the power of frustration in video games. We’ll dig deep to learn about how one designs frustration, and we’ll try to figure out what makes frustration so appealing.
