Sitting at my site of the Atlanta Braves baseball field I just think as a kid I would stay glued to the TV every time the braves would come on . The only problem was I lived in Florida my whole life and never got to visit the stadium until this year . I was ecstatic I didn’t have tickets that day but I wasn’t a problem they have three boots in the front where you can acquire tickets. As I sit in the hot sun looking at the details of the design of the field and the outside, each piece of the field brings back a memory to me. I look at the sign at the top that reads “Turner field” and I remember nights driving down I-75 looking at that sign light up the night sky as a game was being played. The busy street behind me (hank Aaron street) was one of the roads I got lost on when I first moved to Atlanta!!
The road is very unforgiving to lost drivers and you can find yourself getting honked at quickly. A couple of people were out here as well taking pictures of the field because this is the last year the braves will be playing at this field before moving to Cobb county. This makes me a little sad because the people in Atlanta really take pride in having there baseball team called the “Atlanta Braves” actually play baseball in Atlanta. The stadium gives a feeling that it is no doubt in Atlanta. The Coca-Cola bottle and the chic-fil-a cow can be seen a mile away on top of the stadium. Both companies are
huge sponsors and have both been founded in Atlanta Georgia. When I look at the brown bricking on the front and the baseball in between the turner field sign American baseball comes to my head. The parking lot even has a baseball field painted in it !! The numbers on the outside of the field the field give honor to all of the greats that played for the braves. Hank Aaron is my favorite player of the game he came up in a time where is wasn’t easy being a black man in sports and not only did he play the sport, he dominated being the all time leader in home runs and no one has even come close to his record.
