turner field entrance (taken by me)
As I look at the Turner field located on 755 Hank Aaron Dr Se, Atlanta. Which also can be seen from the highway on I-75.The front has an American baseball feel to it with the brown bricking in the front and the big rustic red letters on the top that read “Turner field” There is a baseball in between the words Turner and Field. At night the letters and the baseball light up. The numbers are by the front entrance. These are the baseball players that are greats/ hall of famers for the Atlanta braves baseball organization.

Giant baseballs are on the landscape of the entrance just in case you don’t know what type of field you’re at (sarcasm). Posters of all of the seasons games and since
chic fil a and Coca-Cola statues.
it was the last season for the braves pictures of historic players where also shown by the entrance. The design of the front seemed to encourage people to buy tickets if they haven’t obtained them earlier before the game. Their are three tickets in the front with a clear sign over each booth that says “Tickets”. The main street the field is on is very busy. Cars come in a continuous line both ways with a mix of work commuters and Gsu students commuting to school. you can see the coke bottle statue from a mile away on the top of the field. Coke is a big sponser of the Atlanta baseball team (mainly because Atlanta is home to Coca-Cola head quarters). It is red and brown and lights up at night. Next to the coke bottle is a huge black and white chic-fil-a cow with a sign that reads “due the chop eat the chiken”. Atlanta is also home to the head quarters. These are iconic structures for the turner field to give a since of pride and ownership to the Braves fans. All of the elements and surrounding sponsorships give a distinct look to turner field so that you cant mistake it with any other field in America .

Sitting at my site of the Atlanta Braves baseball field I just think as a kid I would stay glued to the TV every time the braves would come on . The only problem was I lived in Florida my whole life and never got to visit the stadium until this year . I was ecstatic I didn’t have tickets that day but I wasn’t a problem they have three boots in the front where you can acquire tickets. As I sit in the hot sun looking at the details of the design of the field and the outside, each piece of the field brings back a memory to me. I look at the sign at the top that reads “Turner field” and I remember nights driving down I-75 looking at that sign light up the night sky as a game was being played. The busy street behind me (hank Aaron street) was one of the roads I got lost on when I first moved to Atlanta!!
The road is very unforgiving to lost drivers and you can find yourself getting honked at quickly. A couple of people were out here as well taking pictures of the field because this is the last year the braves will be playing at this field before moving to Cobb county. This makes me a little sad because the people in Atlanta really take pride in having there baseball team called the “Atlanta Braves” actually play baseball in Atlanta. The stadium gives a feeling that it is no doubt in Atlanta. The Coca-Cola bottle and the chic-fil-a cow can be seen a mile away on top of the stadium. Both companies are

huge sponsors and have both been founded in Atlanta Georgia. When I look at the brown bricking on the front and the baseball in between the turner field sign American baseball comes to my head. The parking lot even has a baseball field painted in it !! The numbers on the outside of the field the field give honor to all of the greats that played for the braves. Hank Aaron is my favorite player of the game he came up in a time where is wasn’t easy being a black man in sports and not only did he play the sport, he dominated being the all time leader in home runs and no one has even come close to his record.

More and more students are going to school. By 2019, enrollments are expected to rise 9% for students under age 25, and rise 23% for students over the age of 25 (Snyder & Dillow, 2011).Today’s American campuses are expected to reflect an academic life. Throughout the entire campus should be the opportunities for students to to have learning spaces , upgraded technology classes, and academic buildings . This is reinforced by Radloff who notes that only “one fifth of a student’s time is spent in the classroom, contributing about one quarter of the total learning variance (Radloff, 1998, p. 1). College Is very time demanding and can be over whelming is students don’t align there priorities right.
In order to see the change of campuses in America we have to go back in time to compare the first American campuses. The word campus, (derived from a Latin word for “field” – “an expanse surrounded…by woods, higher ground, etc., Harper, n.d.) A lot of the first campuses focused on separating the campus from the distractions of the outside world. There were a lot of open pastures on campus to encourage a learning environment in nature. As time went on cars were more prevalent on campuses so in order to accommodate more parking lots were made for cars. This took away from the nature and pastures on campus. In the 1970’s There was a “green day” movement to bring back more nature on campus and build awareness to to environmental change.”Now as climate change is a major scientific and political issue, a renewed commitment to sustainability is evident in campus planning efforts to integrate built and open spaces within “green infrastructure” (Way, Matthews, Rottle & Toland, 2012).”
A building with an holistic landscape view
Nature is thought to be very soothing for students and is a helping factor for rejuvenating a students mind and body.Nature is observed by students very closes in decision making for campuses. “In fact, Grummon (2009) found that 13.5% of incoming students surveyed selected a university based on sustainability concerns.”You can infuse students learning and the landscaping around then in two ways a holistic landscape and direct and indirect attention and restoration. With a holistic landscape you can incorporate nature in ever aspect of the landscape design. For example you can plant a garden surrounding a dorm with a window in each students dormitory that faces the garden giving them a view of the flowers and bushes. This provides a calm environment for students to reduce stress. You can also do direct and indirect holistic landscapes where students don’t even realize the nature around them. Example: Putting floral picture or paintings on the walls inside the lobbies of the libraries , dorms , computer labs , etc… There is definitely a cognitive belief that holistically landscaped can help improve the learning for students and encourage a healthy mind so that students can make better decisions. It is vital that campuses incorporate this for students to utilize a campus to its full potential.

Black lady being arrested by police for peacefully protesting in the street.
This picture shows a lady in a dress standing in the middle of the street. Two officers seem to be approaching her to arrest her. In the background you can see a line of officers as if there was a battle going on or a war zone.Other people in the back are watching as the look on this ladies face is very calm and peaceful. The image is front and center. Notice how the women is not being resentful. The side image allows you to see he posture as she is unafraid of the police but not fearful. The police on the left side show powers in numbers as the background on the right shows the lady all alone. This almost poses the question.. who is afraid of who?? She is being arrested for a peaceful protest. I never knew this was a crime or our right as Americans. Maybe is she were white she would have gotten away with this peaceful protest. We should all have equal rights to protest in peace and speak our mind.
As i was walking through the courtyard by the library this object just grabbed at my attention. This blue box on the pole has a very important role at my school. You Can clearly read on the right hand site of the box where it says “EMERGENCY”. Also at the bottom of the box you can see the letters “LICE”. Explained to me at orientation that this was a police emergency call box I would infer that the bottom part said police. This box is defaced for a reason unknown to me. Next to the emergency tittle on the call box is a label that reads “HIP HOP LIVES HERE” Its is a black and white sticker. The sticker that covers the plice writing on the box is a thrasher sticker in black and white. A pink sticker that stands out the most Looks to say “Trap happy 2016”. other stickers are half ripped off and hard to read. It is a little ironic that a box that is used for a serious cause could be defaced and taken as a joke .
I love taking notes in class . It keeps me active in class , I always can go back to my notes if i need to reference something to use in my writings. I tend to memorize things better if i write them on paper opposed to just listen to then from a lecture.
The college football hall of fame has always been a favorite place of mine to visit. The scenery of been right in the heart of downtown Atlanta and on the busy Marietta street. When ever I visit the first thing I notice about the design of the building is the entrance. The 30 feet tall entrance is shaped like a 1930s leather back helmet that players used to play with when football was first created. I’ve been inside of the college football hall of fame and the images my mind collect are breath taking, And bring back a lot of memories that impact my emotions. The helmet wall is amazing with over 700 helmets representing all College football teams. I look hard as I find my team I used to play for. The halls are filled with amazing images of old players and current players. The information posted as you walk also gives you an insight on how historic college football is to America. As I walk along the street and glare at the building next to the Philips arena I think of how I fell in love with college football in the beginning … My cousin Joe Cohen signed to play with the Florida gators in 2003 I was a mere child at barely 8 years old. My cousin Joe comes to my house in this blue and orange jersey and I am not sure if it was because those are complimentary colors or I just like the jersey. Never the less I fell in love with the Florida gators and from then on I went to all of his home games.
I was determined to play college football when I was in high school I worked my but off in every game and caught the attention of LaGrange college in LaGrange Georgia . I got signed!! I played my freshmen year and due to money and injuries my college football career was cut short, But I loved every minute of it! As I am walking I see how the workers are very inviting greeting everyone as they see them. Its funny while working at Publix I was offered a job to work their, I still might take that offer up. At night the lights glow as if they are trying to mimic a college football game on a Saturday night. I love everything about the architectural build of the college football hall of fame it captures and glorifies all of the greatness that comes with playing football.
In this academic blog the author is trying to convey to people that get on social media (especially twitter) that twitter is a beautiful place for philosophers and witters to open up and express there self in social media to impact others. The downfall in her argument is that twitter has so many people posting at once that you will not be able to read a majority of people who post and share ideas. The reason for this is that twitters news feed updates every second of the day. The result of that is bloggers and writers tweets only get seen for a brief moment then they are gone down a jungle of tweets. This is no benefit to people who actual get a kick out of reading tweets and taking information from them.
