The reading that stood out in my mind the most was the History of Instructional Design. I had no idea instructional design started during WWII and I feel like the K-12 system has failed me by an alarming degree. History books never taught us how all those soldiers were trained or what they were trained on. The only real WWII training experience I’ve seen was my Grandpa (who had Alzheimer’s and Dementia) talking in Japanese in his sleep due to being stationed in Japan during WWII. You know his training had to be fantastic if he can remember Japanese in his sleep, half a century later with Alzheimer’s.
