Dr. Rachel Peterson Awarded New Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Rachel Peterson who was awarded an early career grant from the American Cancer Society!

Starting this July, she will begin examining changes in cognition, neuroimaging (MRI, DTI, fMRI) along the cerebello-thalamo-cortical pathway, and brain injury biomarkers of neuroinflammation and oxidative stress in pediatric posterior fossa tumors treated with radiation during the first year from diagnosis.

Internship and Post-Doctoral Fellowship Matches

Congratulations to Stephanie Steinberg and Holly Dustin for their successful internship and postdoctoral fellowship matches! Stephanie will be completing her internship at Emory University and Childrens Hospital of Atlanta through their adult/pediatric neuropsychology track. Holly will be completeing her postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute. We are proud of you both and can’t wait to see you take on these next stages!

New King Lab Publication

Congratulations to Olivia Haller for her recent offical publication in The Clinical Neuropsychologist. Olivia’s paper, entitled “Concordance of informant and self-reported ratings on the Frontal Systems Behavior Scale in adult survivors of pediatric brain tumor” explores discrepencies in ratings of exectutive functions between adult survivors of pediatric brain tumor and their family members.

Congratulations to Milu Parrilla and Rella Kautiainen for their recent publication in Applied Neuropsychology: Adult entitled “Sleep quality and executive function in a diverse sample of healthy young adults.” This paper identifies several relationships between sleep and informant-identified cognitive functioning in college students.
