“Grads Mentor Grads: Writing a Conference Paper Proposal”
April 5 at 3 p.m.; 25 Park Place, Room 2325
Session moderators: Josh Privett and Jen Carter
Please join Josh Privett and Jen Carter for a roundtable discussion on writing a proposal for conference papers and panels. Using proposals of their own as examples, they will explain the conventions of an abstract, specifically as they relate to literary studies and rhetoric and composition. They will also share their experience and advice on finding a conference, analyzing a call for papers, and writing a paper proposal that fits the conference’s theme. Most importantly, Jen and Josh invite everyone to bring a draft of an abstract—or even an idea for one—to share with the group for feedback.
Questions regarding this session can be directed to Josh Privett.
