Behnaz

Hello and welcome to my homepage! I am a Professor of Mathematics for the online Department of Mathematics at Georgia State University Perimeter College. I received my PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia in 2004. Prior to that, received an MA in Mathematics from the University of Georgia, an MA in Economics from West Virginia University, and a BS in Mathematics from Hertfordshire University in England.

I have been teaching Online Mathematics and Mathematics education courses using different platforms since 1999. Prior to teaching, worked in the private industry as a Research Analyst.

I am Georgia Governor’s Teaching Fellow in 2011. I am recipient of the Georgia Perimeter College Exemplary Professor Award in 2012. I have written two study guides and a self-help book for students on how to be successful in their mathematics journey.

I am member of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC), the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and the Georgia Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (GMATYC). I am Secretary of the AMATYC and President of GMATYC. I attend and present at various international, national, regional and local professional conferences.
