Week 11

The first four are what are known as convergence quilts: defined by featuring two or more fabrics cut into strips, sewn together, then cut and pieced again. They seem great for creating illusion-like effects and implying depth and space! I’d be interested in trying to make one.

I really love hand dyed fabrics and the subtleties and variations they can have compared to store-bought.

The tapestry in the bottom left is by the great Sheila Hicks. I really enjoy the piecy, block-like compartmentalization of color.
