My name is Liana Gavrilova. I am originally from the country of Georgia, a small European country located in the eastern part of Europe. My country is small but very beautiful. I was born in the capital city called Tbilisi. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The charming narrow streets of Old Town represent the city’s rich heritage. Cobblestone alleys and 19th-century art give way to modern high rises along the west bank of the river, Mtkvari.
I moved to the United States almost 25 years ago. I went to New York University to get professional training in the English language. I moved to Atlanta in 1996 to continue my professional career as an educator. I believe that this is one of the most important professions that exist on our planet today. Teachers shape our future and the future of generations to come.
Outside of my work, I am a very energetic and optimistic person who enjoys life and loves people. I have many good and loyal friends with whom I enjoy spending my free time. I have a daughter, who is also a GA State University student, and who always tries to support me in all my endeavors and in everything that I do.
One of my professional accomplishments was designing and developing the English and Spanish language programs for the Latin American Association, a non-profit organization located in Atlanta. The English language program that I developed has greatly contributed to the organization’s growth and popularity among the Latino community in the metro Atlanta area. A great number of students over the years have had the opportunity to learn the language and to get empowered for their future lives in the United States.
I believe that passion, hard work, and creativity will enable you to become the person you have been dreaming to become. These are the values that I believe are essential to leading a successful and fulfilled life.
