Santo Domingo v.s. Sosua

So we have only been in the city of Sosua for about a day and I am already noticing some differences. Again, this is only my initial perspective so there might be some additional differences that I have not yet encountered.

Once we arrived in Sosua we were given a walking tour of the area surrounding our hotel. Throughout the duration of this tour, I noticed that there is little to no trash laying in the streets and if you have seen the previous blogs from this program you would know that is not true for Santo Domingo. Also, there is an enormous amount of motos (motorcycles) here in Sosua, rather nice motos at that.

Furthermore, the red light district here in Sosua is hard to miss. There are a number of women strolling the streets of Sosua dressed quite provocatively in comparison to the women in Santo Domingo. However, I will leave it at that and allow a fellow classmate to further elaborate on the large sex worker population.

All in all, I have enjoyed my first day here in Sosua. It is truly a beautiful place to be and I cannot wait to learn more about the city.
