Elisa Lam sadly died because of her manic episodes that led her to kill herself. She probably didn’t know what she was doing and went ahead and killed herself. The depression and manic episode affected her as seen in the last elevator footage of her. She had depression throughout most of her life and she was taking medication for it. I don’t think she purposely committed suicide because she had her family or parents she talked to every day. It was just the manic episode that got her.
