What You Won’t Do for Love

This piece basically represents my love for music. i used to be in and band and thought it’d be best to represent that. I wanted to do a flute but realize how boring it’d be since its just practically a stick, so I decided to do saxophone instead since people tend to think its a brass instrument instead of a woodwind instrument.

The process of this project was going well, up until i had to put everything together. the plaster cloth that’s wrapped on the sax was consuming a lot of paint so even when i try to add another layer, it wouldn’t cover the entire base. when I used the hot glue to glue it to the base of the plastic but didn’t realize that it would melt through, so while regluing it, it caused the base to be unstable.

Materials: flexi glass, plaster cloth, buttons, old textbook, bending wire, cardboard, Scotch tape, acrylic paint

Catastrophe

This piece didn’t turn out the way I expected since the material was something new to m, though i did my best to make it better. This piece basically sums up how I felt while working on the project.

Materials: Floral foam, Hot glue, Acrylic paint

Circus Gallop

I was mainly inspired to draw this catastrophic piece by listening to a piano piece I constantly listened to as a child. The music is quite eerie and disturbing, so I wanted my piece to represent exactly that. Wasn’t smart for me to do this all last minute since it was a project for my 2D design class, but the finish product turned out better than I expected. I think the the hardest part to do was tongue, since i wanted to to represent an old unmaintained type of texture

Materials used: Micron pen .005, .01 and .03

Date Completed: 09/27/21

Pandemic Project

in this project, we are supposed to find things around our house, whether its nature or “garbage”, and create something different from them.

Rose, Thorn, Bud

Rose, Thorn, Bud

With so many things overwhelming my head, I thought this prompt would best fit how i feel at the moment. the purple spikes instead of beautful grass represent the negativtey, or the overhwhelming stress I’ve been dealing with. The darkness below also represents the “lowness” that have been surounding my thoughts. As it reaches higher it gets brighter and form a tulips. I decided to use these flowers instead cause they are my favorite and they bring me happiness. As the butterfly nutures the flowers, it them a sense of hope, allowing them to enlarge and become more hopeful and happy. I used procreate to digitalize this.

Beauty, Ugly

Beauty, Ugly

This next prompt represents turning something people may assume as “ugly” into something I may think is beautiful. using toilet paper and an empty toilet roll, I decided to make a tree out of both them and use a green base to represent the field. I wanted to color the entire roll but the paper began to disintegrate quickly from my acrylics, leaving holes. Although I’m pretty satisfied it withheld the weight.

Your Spirit Defeats Your Inner Demon

Your Spirit Animal Defeats Your Inner Demon

For my 3rd prompt, I decided “Why not make an ugly version of my spirit animal as a Demon to represent my bear fighting itself??” With this, I used ketchup to present the demon and coffee as the bear. using the coffee to represent the rays attacking the demon, and the demon trying to fight against it.

Natural Material

For my final prompt, I decided to go outside and create the real version of the well that I saw in my dream. Using rocks and sticks, I gathered them to create something that looks hopeful, exactly how it felt when I was running in my dream. here are two different lightings (one with sunlight and one near the evening)
