Life After People…

#JustThink

What would happen if humans disappeared from the earth? It’s a question that I’m sure has plagued everyones mind. According to ‘Life After People’ within hours after humans, lights all around the world will start to shut off being that there are no humans to put fuel into the light generators. After the lights start to go out, shortly after turbine electricity would start to go out. Sewers will start to flood with no one there to regulate the sewage system. Up to about a year after there are no humans, the Hoover Damm power point will start to shut down.

While the electricity starts to go out, food in homes and supermarkets start to root and decay. Family pets, dogs to be exact, experience a sudden die off, reason being there are no humans to provide them with their source of food and/or water. Dogs that are most likely to survive life without humans are the average size dog. Small dogs and dogs that were bred specifically for what they were brought for, are unfortunately less likely to survive in a life after humans. As the food decays, rats and mice start to invade homes and supermarkets looking for the decaying food to feast on. After the food supply for the rats and mice start to fade away, they are consequently left to revert back to there natural of life, to go out into the wild to scavenge for their food and be bait for the birds of the air.

After a year, nature reclaims imperious surfaces, such as buildings, sidewalks, and homes. Weeds start to infiltrate cracks while wild animals start to invade and make home into abandoned houses. City buildings all around the world start to burn, releasing into the air chemicals to start new plant life where former building and infrastructures used to stand and take root. Five years down the line, if we were to take a look at central park, with humans there to maintain and upkeep, the park turns in to a forest full of plant and animal life.

Leading up to 20 years after human life on plant earth, there would be a population increase of wild animals all over the world. Houses start to breakdown, succumbing to nature elements. Bridges start to corrode and decay away the same goes for official buildings and infrastructures around the world. Cars are unrecognizable to the sight as they rust and become one with the earth.

Just imagining life after people and how the earth would turn out to look is fascinating. Life after people on planet earth would just be…

  1. This was a very interesting blog. I never imagined what life after death would be like, but this article has me thinking about it.
