Hello To All,

My name is Ashantee Alleyne, I was born in Brooklyn, NY, but raised in good ole Snellville, Ga. Words that I would describe my character as being are, energetic, welcoming, curious, open-minded, and I would also say that I have a sense of humor. I am the middle child and also left handed. I graduated from South Gwinnett High School, class of 2012 and straight after went into the military, the Marine Corps to be exact. Four years later, I find myself enrolled and attending college. College was always on my goal list, because to me, college regardless of what degree is being pursued, you also gain another position/insight of the world around you while attending. I believe attending college gives you the necessary skills and techniques to endure others. Such as, building an air of intelligence and grace around you, it shapes you to be able to think critically, thus producing a proper response, it polishes up the team work mentality, knowing that it’s all about cooperation in life. And also it socializes you, which is good for your health. The major that I’m pursuing is in communications and with that I plan on either going into Human Resources, Business, or Marketing, plus I also have my own motives and intentions on the side that a communications degree can help me excel in. I chose coming to Perimeter College, because it was close to home, has the degree I’m pursuing, is apart of Georgia State University, and overall, just a good school. Ultimately, what I’m striving for is happiness, but in the sense of school, just growth. Im striving to become better than my yesterdays Ashantee Alleyne. And, lastly, what my goals are for English 1102 is to become more proficient in my writing.
