The Georgia State University Perimeter College Film and Media Pathway offers opportunities for students to learn about the History of Film, the characteristics of different Film Genres, and how to write about films by analyzing the components of writing, directing, cinematography, lighting, editing, music, sound recording, sound effects, and visual effects.
Students can also take a new class in how to create professional videos using their smartphones. Perimeter College has acquired some gimbals to help students shoot mobile scenes like those seen in most film and television productions, along with microphones and other accessories as needed.
The Clarkston Campus now hosts the new Clarkston Film Society, a student club that supports and screens student work, and serves as a networking opportunity—something crucial to success in the film industry.
