This had to happen someday. I always said the scarlet background on this blog’s top banner was a stopgap. I wanted something decorative, and I didn’t need that title in the middle. I still like red and cream. It’s a hard color combination to beat.

And yes, I found the default style sheet for this blog, so it was not too hard to make adjustments and add goodies. I still need:

• A few more separator bars.
• A small to medium size graphic to separate posts.
• Larger, easier to read, black print in all the fine print below the posts.

I also have made several classes of bulleted list, a class of borderless tables and two classes of horizontal rules that replace the usual grayish line with a spiffy, separator bar. Quintus, which is a lovely base theme, never had it so good. Maybe some day I’ll write my own WordPress theme. I think I learn a lot from tweaking other people’s work. I just wish I could congratulate Automatic for creating such an easily editable theme.
