Cynthia Puranik, Ph.D. Principal Investigator
Cynthia Puranik is a Professor in the Department of Communication Science & Disorders in the College of Education and Human Development at Georgia State University. Her research interests include writing development, assessment, instruction, and intervention. She has received several awards, including the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) awarded by President Obama in 2016. Her articles have appeared in numerous journals, including Early Childhood Research Quarterly, Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, Journal of Learning Disabilities, Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, and Reading & Writing. She has received IES funding for several research initiatives, including Peer Assisted Writing Strategies (PAWS): Efficacy, a writing intervention program for 4th-5th grade students with language learning disabilities (WILLD).
