The 1960s

Jackie Kennedy was one of the most influential women in fashion during the ’60s. She was the epitome of the simple yet elegant look. Many of the middle age women admired her style and started mimicking her style. She was known for wearing dresses without collars and a low heel is known as a sensible shoe. Once her husband was assassinated, Brigitte Bardot stepped in as a fashion icon. Her style was the complete opposite of Jackie’s, as she sported an edgier look. Mary Quant’s influence was all about youthful/ playful vibes. She wanted girls to dress more daring and show more skin. As the creator of the mini-skirt, she wanted to usher in the anti-parent philosophy as a life of fun.
