For me, art is an expression by an individual that is meant to stimulate the mind and provoke a reaction. The reaction can be appreciation or it can be humor, or even sadness. Artist want us to reflect on their work and understand their message. A painting may look pretty but the artist was motivated by something in their lives to create that piece.

That’s a unique take on the subject. Art, much like literature, provokes inflection. It prompts us to look within ourselves and find relationships. Now, some people might not be too eager to draw meaning. Therefore, they might not see the artistic or aesthetic value in said work of art. But for those who relate to a piece, it stimulates the mind and trigger the emotions.
