Jovon Taylor is currently pursuing a PhD in nursing at Georgia State University. She is a fellow in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Minority Fellowship Program that seeks to reduce mental health disparities among minority populations and is a Jonas Nursing Scholar.  Mrs. Taylor is a master’s prepared nurse educator with over a decade of experience educating ADN and BSN nursing students and serving as a unit-based preceptor/mentor to licensed nurses and new nurse graduates. Currently, Mrs. Taylor is employed as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, providing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and adults in metro Atlanta. Her research interest is understanding resilience factors in substance abuse abstinence among African American male survivors of childhood abuse.
