GSU’s Pre-Law Advising Team
The Center for Advancement of Student’s and Alumni (CASA) at GSU is the primary place for Pre-Law Advising.
At CASA, we’re here to offer you advice and assistance at every stage of the law school application journey – from deciding whether law school is the right path, to preparing your application materials and selecting where to apply. If you need help working on your personal statement, choosing an application strategy, or have any questions about law school, we are the people to contact!
Your Pre-Law advisors are:
Dr. Michael Yontz
Dr. Yontz currently serves as a the Pre-Law Faculty Associate for The Center for Advancement of Students and Alumni (CASA) at GSU. He holds a Juris Doctor from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stony Brook University.
Dr. Yontz has worked in law in the private sector and for the Indiana Attorney General, with experience in wide variety of practice areas. Dr. Yontz is also a first generation college (and law school) graduate.

Karis Perusek
Karis Perusek is currently a 3L at Georgia State University College of Law. In her role as CASA’s Pre-Law Graduate Assistant, Karis organizes events between the law school and the undergraduate school. She also is available as a resource for undergraduate students interested in law school to review resumés, personal statements, and provide generalized law school and LSAT advice.
Prior to attending Georgia State College of Law, Karis received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Florida. After graduating from law school, Karis plans to practice criminal law.
