This year, the National HBCU Pre-Law Summit & Law Expo is being held Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15 at Emory University School of Law. This annual event was developed especially for students and graduates of historically black colleges and universities who are interested in law school and becoming lawyers. However, everyone is welcome. Registration is free of charge.
AccessLex Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to understanding the barriers that impede access to law school for historically underrepresented students, is sponsoring this year’s summit and will be presenting these sessions:
- Applying to Law School – A Strategic Approach: This presentation will examine the essential components of a successful law school application – and offer tips and strategies for applicants.
- Financing Your Legal Education: This session will give aspiring law students comprehensive information about the costs associated with earning a law degree, and the options available to help pay for it.
These are just two of the over 30 sessions on the agenda that will provide meaningful information to HBCU students and graduates relating to law school admission, law school selection, the law school experience, and legal careers.
