(2) Speaking of voting, it is not too late to register if you have not already. If you have any questions about how to register or where–or if you need to change your address–you can simply go to www.vp.sos.ga.gov OR text “GA” to 28683. The deadline to register is Tuesday October 11. Early voting starts October 17. Election Day is Tuesday November 8th.
(3) Another upcoming event is a bipartisan panel of local elected officials talking about ways to get involved in the political process and become a leader who makes a difference. The event will be at 5:30pm on September 28 in University Center 460. The event will be co-hosted by Empowered, which is an NGO trying to encourage civic engagement among citizens, and knowledge of the political process especially at the state and local level. Though co-hosted by the College Republicans, the panel of elected officials is bipartisan and it is also co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science.
