Closing reception for “Magical Narratives” on Feb. 22

A closing reception for “Magical Narratives: A Retrospective” an exhibition of artwork by Margee Bright-Ragland, Professor of Art at Georgia State University, Perimeter College, will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Perimeter Main Fine Arts Gallery located at the South entrance to the Fine Arts Building (Building F) on the Clarkston campus.

The exhibition’s last day for viewing is Friday, the 23rd. If you haven’t had the chance to swing by the newly renovated Marvin Cole Auditorium on the Clarkston campus to see the show, it is very recommended.

The exhibition demonstrates Bright-Ragland’s range as an artist throughout her career. Viewers will be enchanted by her fantastical collage, watercolor, and mixed media works which frequently juxtapose realistic and fantastical narratives or imagery.

The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and also on Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, please call 678-891-3572.

“Magical Narratives” exhibition features works by PC faculty.

Dunwoody Student Art Show Invites Student Submissions

The Dunwoody Art Club is hosting the 2nd annual Student Art Show at Dunwoody campus from October 24 – November 17, 2016 and is now accepting submissions of student work (through October 21st). This show is open to all current students enrolled in at least one class on the Dunwoody campus, regardless of major or experience.

Faculty, please share and encourage this opportunity in your classes, regardless of your discipline – we have SO many creative students on our campus and this is their time to get acknowledged and share their work with the campus.

All media are welcome, however, works must be “ready to hang” or present as outlined in the submission form. For assistance preparing works for submissions, students are welcome to come to the Dunwoody studio classroom, NA 1150, on Wednesday, October 19, between 3:45 and 5:45 p.m. – emailing the advisor to determine what might be required (as hanging supplies are not provided on Oct. 19) is advised.

OFFICIAL DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 10 a.m., Friday, Oct 21

Students submissions will be accepted through the Dunwoody Student Life office on Wednesday, October 19 and Thursday, October 20th from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and also from 8 – 10 am on Friday, October 21st. Any works received after 10 a.m. on Friday may not be eligible for inclusion in the exhibition.
