Guest Artist – Dave D’Angelo

 Mr. D’Angelo, coordinator of jazz studies at University of Georgia, is a well known educator and performer.  He has played for Broadway shows in New York City and has appeared on numerous soundtracks for TV and film.  In addition Mr. D’Angelo was a member of the big band led by famed drummer, Buddy Rich.

Perimeter College Chorale Spring Concert!

The music performed during this semester’s concert will cover a wide range of styles – everything from Baroque oratorio to African-American spirituals to vocal jazz arrangements of hit songs by Adele and Billy Joel.

The Perimeter College Chorale consists of music majors, as well as students from across the college, and occasional faculty members.  The ensemble regularly performs in the metro Atlanta area, as well as for Perimeter College Commencement ceremonies.

Video-Conference This Wednesday: National Playwrights

This is a reminder that this Wednesday, April 12, 2017, Georgia State University Perimeter College will co-host the National Playwrights video-conference, in partnership with New York University (NYU), live at the Newton campus and shown (via split screen streaming) on the remaining Perimeter College campuses as well as the Atlanta campus.

This year’s guest is Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, David Lindsay-Abaire, author of Rabbit Hole and Shrek. The conference may be attended in person on the Newton campus at the 2/N Lecture Hall on Wednesday, April 12, from 1 – 2:45 p.m. All are welcome, however space is limited. Professors who wish to bring classes are encouraged to reserves seats in advance.

Writing Workshop Exploring Veteran’s Experience April 11.

Don’t forget! The WRITING THE VETERAN EXPERIENCE WORKSHOP at the Clarkston campus will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 7-9 p.m. in CA-1500.

No prior writing experience necessary (Bring current creative literary works to share, if applicable). Student veterans attending GSU’s Atlanta Campus, as well as student veterans enrolled at other colleges and universities are especially welcome.

Last chance to contribute to the Wish Tree at Clarkston!

All students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to contribute to a unique collaborative site-specific installation opportunity as part of a week long exhibition celebrating Earth Day at the Native Plant Botanical Garden on the Clarkston campus. Deadline for submission are next week, April 12!

Contribute to a collaborative installation project called the Wish Tree, inspired by Yoko Ono. Offerings should be submitted to Clarkston art department office, CF building by April 12. These can be paper, no larger than 5” x 7.” You must make a hole in the top for it to be strung up. These will not be returned.
