I think that the biggest difference in the two types of commercials was the voices that they used. The advertisements for boys had guys with deep raspy voices that were trying to sound hardcore and accentuate the violence in the ads, but the advertisements for the girls had ladies with kind of prissy bratty voices to sell the prissy, bratty looking dolls. For a while now, I’ve thought that commercials like these could be dangerous for teaching kids to be stereotypical spoiled kids like the kids in the commercials appear to be, and I think they may work because I know a lot of kids like that.
