Phipps Plaza observation

- Entrance: Davio’s, Legoland, AMC
- Around this time people mainly come to eat
- There are many formal restaurants, and also a couple of fast food restaurants inside of the mall.
- About 3 out of 10 people that come in use the valet parking service
- People are mainly adults
- Very few children
- If children it is usually just 2 per couple
- The races are mainly white and black people. Only about 1/4 of people are black, the main race is white
- Starting to get full as night approaches
- Mainly young people in their 20s
- Most sit outside to enjoy the music played by a musician
- Mainly go there to drink
- Belk one of the main departments stores in Phipps plaza has a bigger parking lot; a lot of people mainly park there
- People now are mainly going to restaurants and the movie theater
- Not really cold so a lot of people are not wearing jackets
- Not one person went into the Arhaus furniture store
- People mainly had Nordstrom shopping bags
- This is weird since Nordstrom is on the other side of the mall so there is another exit over there.
- Around this time people mainly come to eat
Friday 2/12/15
10:00 am
- I walked to the mall from the MARTA station
- People that ride the MARTA and get off at Lenox station go to Lenox mall
- Mostly everyone going to Phipps Plaza is driving
- Only about one person walked to Phipps Plaza
- The mall just opened so there are less people
- Now in front of Belk
- A lot of people enter through Belk because there is a big parking lot
- Belk is a big department store
- Kind of like a macy’s
- More people go because there are more sales then the entire mall
- Not really busy since it was morning and a Friday
- Mainly males or females going to buy Valentine’s day gifts
