Centennial Olympic Park: A Deconstruction

Green cans nearing every green bench in the park. The shape varies among each.

Located at 265 Park Avenue in Atlanta Georgia, Cenntenial Olympic Park is a 21 acre green space that was built as apart of the infrastructure improvements during the 1996 Olympic Games. The Park host millions of visitors a year through festival, tourism, and daily use(Georgia World Congress Center Authority). Containing many components the park has an important aspect of color. Color has a role in the park atmosphere and attractiveness, as well as practicality and recognition.

 

Next to every bench stands two bins of similar color, but different purposes. The bins stand next to each other. The left bin contains dark green pegs, dark green body, and a dark green top. All of these pieces of the can are the same color. Within the bin is a jet black bag completely of this color. The bin to the right has a dark green body and a dark green head.

On the head are scrawled texts in a bright white color that contrasts with the dark green color.Within the right bin is a cloudy white colored bag that has the ability to be seen through. The green cans both have the same color as the benches the lie in the distance, which posses dark green legs and a dark green curved backing. The bolts that drive the benches into the green also have this dark green color.

 

 

Making ones way through the park, there stands a large clean cart under a tree. The rectangular stand is rich with multiple colors. The wheels are a jet black color with silver rims in the middle. The bolts of the rims are a dark grey color, which matched the axial at the center of the cart. The trim surrounding the small truck is a silver reflective material that contains bolts evenly spread, which also gleam the silver. half of the cart, white covering a quarter, and green another quarter. The fruit presented vary in type with a variety of greens, yellows, reds, purples, oranges, blues, and blacks. The scrawled letter, stating “Repicci’s”, is red with a backing of white and a green border.

 

Of the many spots where wildlife is present, there are sets of various plants with multiple tints and sizes. The flora of the park held multiple colors. The first row of plants possessed a dark green brush with dark green stems. The second row had a deep lavender purple petals, a dark brown core, and a green stems and leaves. The third row contained a magenta pink color among it’s petals, a dark yellow core with speckles of green, and light green stems and leaves reaching into the ground.The first row, being perpendicular to the dark green flora, is a light neon green color the stems upward with short light green stems. a dark green top with leaves showing the color. The branches holding the leaves was a light chocolate brown that continued from the branches to the stump of the tree. The grass held a light green color with light green stems and deep dark brown earth underneath.

 

Located far from the entrance of the park, there sits a pentagonal building. The walls of the structure were a deep burnt orange that covered the building’s base. The sloping roof of the building was a bright white all over. The roof possessed bolts that also shown the color white. Along the side of the buil ding was jet black circles and writing. Within the black circles was white writing that was the same color as the roof. Along the opposite side of the building was a space with umbrellas that possessed the same burnt orange color of the building.The tables in which these umbrellas stood was a jet black, just as the writing of the side of the building. There were clear windows that stood on the side of the structure

with no color and high transparency.

 

 

In the center of the park was white rings, with a circular shape. Among these rings, being rectangular in shape, was the deep orange-red brick used as the pavement for the rest of the park.The worn color was even among all bricks. In between each panel of bricks was a white film that separated them. This white was, just as the rings, a bright white. The white of the rings was a bright white. From these rings was a shooting white and cloudy water. The liquid was the same color all over and resembles the white rings in which it came from.
