Catching Up With Slave Narrative Project

Due to an emergency, I was unable to be here last class, so I am catching up a bit with you.  As of today, you should have your group project uploaded to your personal blog, and you should have finished at least the rough draft of your annotated bibliography. 

This week I will finish giving you feedback on your annotated bibliography, and you should be able to post your final annotated bibliography by Friday.

Also, the Tuesday after Spring Break, you will need to have the rough draft of your Slave Narrative paper completed.  If you don’t want to bother with it over the break, please try to get it finished by Friday (it shouldn’t be hard after you finish your annotated bibliography).  Remember, the paper doesn’t have to be ABOUT your slave, it can be about something related to your slave.

Please meet at the WISE lab during your regular class time so that we can upload group projects to your WordPress blog.

I will be unable to attend afternoon classes today because my son is ill.  Please ask the lab staff to assist you with any blog matters.

 

Slave Narrative Group Project

Today you organized yourselves into groups for the project, which is due on February 22nd.

Here is what you need to accomplish before that due date:

  • Groups Decide on Presentation: Once groups are formed, the groups will look at each member’s annotated bibliography and decide upon a unifying theme and a creative way in which to present the material.
  • Work on Presentation: The presentation must stand on its own when it is uploaded to your blog.  You may film all or part of it with a digital video camera, a graphics camera on your computer, or with the video feature on your phone.  You can integrate film and presentation software (Prezi, Powerpoint, etc.), or you can find some other way to present the material in a creative fashion.  I should be able to clearly hear the information presented and see any graphics provided.  Each group should present the findings in a creative manner.  Digital presentations will be played in class during assigned presentation time.
  • Participation and Credits: Each group member MUST actively participate in the presentation. A credits list must be included in the final copy of the presentation.
  • Upload Presentation: Each group member is responsible for uploading a copy of the presentation to their WordPress e-Portfolio.

    For Tuesday, you should complete the Annotated Bibliography for your Slave Narrative.  The specific requirements are in the assignment.  Please remember that each source must be annotated with TWO 1-2 sentence paragraphs.  The first short paragraph should be a summary of the source.  The second should be how it will be used in your research project.

    Also, please insure that the annotated sources are in alphabetical order AND in MLA Style.

    DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR INSITE BY TUESDAY OR YOU WILL RECIEVE AN “F” ON THIS ASSIGNMENT!!!
