How A.I has taken away the social elements?

When we think about A.I as a whole we often think about all of the positive elements it has allowed us to achieve.  A.I is all around us from Siri on our iPhones to driverless cars. Artificial Intelligence has significantly and undoubtedly made our life easier, but what has it also taken away from us? While many jobs have been more successful due to  A.I  and have been able to generate more revenue there has been a decrease in social interaction. We know that organizational behavior is the academic study of how people interact within groups. This knowledge of organizational behavior helps explain what happens when these groups are eliminated due to A.I in the workplace. For example, this past year there has been a heavy increase in companies allowing employees to work from home. Covid-19 has impacted the face-to-face interactions we are used to having in the workplace. Meetings, business deals, and even job interviews are conducted online. These interactions are so much more important than we might realize. Non-verbal cues from body language that can only be seen in person are critical because they help demonstrate trust, clarity, and listening skills. Many have found themselves self-reflecting this past year and realizing the negative effects of removing social interaction within the workplace. Social interactions in the workplace between colleagues and even employers can help to increase affective commitment. Affective commitment refers to a desire to remain a member of an organization due to an emotional attachment or involvement with that organization. Some employees that present this type of attachment to a company are struggling due to the lack of social interaction. In face-to-face communication with co-workers or even customers decrease their attachment. For example, realtors that rely on personality or k in-person meetings to successfully sell houses are being eliminated to online A.I  such as Zillow that uses algorithms to target customers. Overall, we have A.I to thank for a lot of technological advancement, but we must not forget the importance of social interactions both outside and inside the workplace.
