The coming college year looks like being one that’s leaning a little bit more towards normality, and you may well be coming face to face with your college friends after all. That means you’ll want to be decked out in all the latest fashions. The addition of a trendy accessory or two will complete that look at a minimum of cost.

If you’ve been studying over the course of the past year, and a half you may well have found yourself doing so via a Zoom call from your lecturers, and you’ve probably not made much in the way of social contact with your fellow students. 

Now, this was a new ‘normal’ that no one wanted to get used to, but fortunately for most of us, things are getting back to a more pleasant reality. So if you are preparing to go back to college after this period, then you may well be very nervous about what the coming year entails.

You must have noticed just how much personalized jewelry there is out there right now, from celebrities walking down the red carpet, or on the catwalk to individuals you pass by on the street.

Claw clips are in right now and are perhaps a step up from scrunchies, which have also made a comeback in 2021. These are available in a number of styles and you can go for classy or playful looks, depending on your mood or the occasion. 

For instance, if you are out on a date then you might look to wear an understated claw clip. If you are out on the town with your college friends then you could elect for a colorful claw clip option.

Silk Scarves

As far as footwear is concerned, sandals are a nice middle ground between functionality and decorative. Platform sandals are very trendy right now and are a very affordable item for students to consider.

Go for sandals that look like they have longevity, as being a student requires a great deal of moving around campus. Jet black is the common color choice here, but there’s no harm in looking for pairs of sandals that have nice detailing, perhaps with link chain additions or even a splash of color. 

Stylish Inexpensive Shades

Chunky sunglasses are sure to put some extra zip into your outfit. You can pick up inexpensive shades in all manner of locations, or even online. Look for strong resistant lenses and consider oversized rectangular frames for that retro look.

You can also consider selecting a pair with nice tinted frames, with indigos and blues really working well this year. Even though summer is almost behind us, there are still many sunny days ahead, albeit the temperature may be down a degree or two.

Bucket Hats

If you had told us a year ago that everyone would be wearing bucket hats and bringing back the one fashion trend from the 90s that we don’t quite get, we’d have written you off as some sort of loon. But there it is, the old school bucket hat is very much a comeback item.

These are very popular among the younger generations.The newest incarnation of the bucket hat are all together more stylish and classy than the 1990s version. It’s a handy student accessory and one that isn’t particularly expensive and surprisingly adaptable.

Thrift Stores

One final tip, and one that is no doubt already well known by most students: make regular visits to your local thrift stores and vintage clothing outlets. You’d be surprised what bargains you can pick up, and invariably you’ll see that the fashion trends emanate from what those in the know see people shopping for from second-hand retailers. 

Also, if we’re honest, the hunt for the perfect pair of mom jeans, in a humble thrift store, is worth the effort even if unsuccessful. Such is the warm content one can secure from such shopping excursions.
