Maddux, Rachael, and KENDRICK BRIHSON. “Communal Commuting: What I’ve Learned From Riding MARTA.” Atlanta 53.2 (2013): 82-97. MasterFILE Elite. Web. 5 Feb. 2016.
In Rachael Maddux’s article, “Communal Commuting: What I’ve Learned From Riding MARTA,” a personal story about the author’s experience on the MARTA train is told. She speaks of how parking her car in Atlanta is very expensive, so she chose to take MARTA instead. In her perspective, she describes the ride as an awkward experience where people lose their balance and fall or bump into each other. Maddux directs her article towards the average-lived people who ride the MARTA because her language is very casual and personal. Her writing is a helpful source because she talks about why she began to ride the train and how there are many struggles commuting on this particular transportation.
I wonder what the relationship is between this authors’ story and the built environment?
