Ignorance is Bliss

I could feel the atmosphere shift as I  stumbled upon a long narrow tunnel, painted with faces that expressed the significance of  Martin Luther’s dream. As I entered the historic site I could hear the birds rejoicing, the various colors of flowers blossoming, and the steady winds that danced around the world peace rose garden. The echoing waves of the ocean blue waterfall soothed me as I walked along the Chapel of Faith analyzing the detailed photos of Dr. King and his companions. These sculpted photos  that were cropped perfectly within the rough white lines of the burgundy brick walls vividly expressed their commitment, dedication, and integrity  throughout the civil rights movement.  A feeling of guilt enlightened me as I carefully observed the various facial expressions that underlined the blood, sweat, and tears these activist had shed not only for themselves but  significantly for future generations. The cool but powerful projector of Dr. Kings voice danced through the through the facility making it quite impossible to be ignored by any one even the most causal listener. The persuasion of Dr. kings voice energized the public allowing for the common conscious of humanity to be experienced as you navigated through the site. The warmth of the eternal flames crept upon me as I approached a peninsula centered with a grey cinderblock with black designs that serves as the final resting place for Mr. and Mrs. King. This omnipotent platform is a place of reflection and collection so that the public could achieve the

The Martin Luther king Historic Sites serves as a  magnificent spot which inspire you to become rejuvenated like never before. During my previous visits of the site I was oblivious to the morals or the meaning of these historical pieces that the site presented to me. Since I was unaware of the context behind these historical pieces I was incapable of understanding how that area was architecturally designed. Now I have acknowledge the fact that people cannot get a full understanding of a place or theme unless they understand to some extent the history of that place. When leaving the site I felt more oriented with its environment and the way it was set up. I also felt accomplished because now I can acknowledge that there is a  significance in every society that affects the way that society is construed or operates.

Correta Scott King started the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in the basement of the couple’s home in the year following King’s 1968 assassination. In 1981, the center was moved into a multimillion dollar facility on Auburn Avenue, near King’s birth home and next to Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he preached from 1960 until his death. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., National Historic Site established in 1980, consists of several buildings surrounding Dr. Kings childhood home on Auburn Avenue in the Sweet Auburn historic district. The original Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King and his father Martin Luther King Sr. were pastors, is also part of the national historic site. These places are significant to the american history and supports as the interpretation of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy as a leader of the American civil rights movement.
