Project 2

Project 2 required us to use different materials to create landscapes that show perspective accurately. We were required to use 1 or 2 point perspective in 2 of these drawings, except we weren’t allowed to use any straight edges. We also had to have another drawing that demonstrated atmospheric perspective. There was a lot of preparation and research when it came to finding images and mastering perspectives when it came to this project.

My process for project 2 was simple. I used reference images of 1 and 2 point perspective and studied them until I was able to draw them. For my first image I used inkwash, a watercolor pencil, and a crowquill pen on 8×12 in mix media paper. For my second drawing I used a white and brown color pencil on 8×12 in black paper, and in my last piece I used crowquill pen on 12x 16 in mix media paper. I did 1 point perspective with the pens and 2 point with the coloring pencils. I purposely did atmospheric perspective with inkwash, so I could make the background parts lighter and farther back.
