The evolution of horror films is an intense sight to see. This upgrade brought us from the 1920s, which had a lack of diversity in the cast, fx makeup that was unrealistic, and dim lighting to the 90s, which had a high level of diversity, realistic and terrifying fx makeup, and amazing lighting techniques so that viewers can clearly see what they should be afraid of. However, this improvement could not happen without the cultural and societal shifts in the decades.
