Community Partners

As a research program committed to engaged, community-based scholarship CSAW REU mentors and students will work closely with four community partner organizations:

  • Charis Community Housing, a non-profit organization that builds affordable housing in low-income neighborhoods (Research Track 1).
  • Trees Atlanta, a non-profit, citizens’ organization that restores and protects urban forests in the city of Atlanta (Research Track 2).
  • West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA), a non-profit citizens’ group committed to fostering environmental stewardship (Research Track 2).
  • South Atlanta for the Environment (SAFE), a community-based environmental health collaborative of residents, community-based organizations, neighborhood groups, governmental agencies, businesses and other stakeholders (Research Track 3).
