Black lives matter protesters walked on Washington Ave. in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The imagine was captured to show the diversity and unity behind the large “BLACKLIVESMATTER”  poster. There are many races holding up the poster, such as White, Asian, Black, and possibly Hispanic to identify the diversity of people supporting the movement. Also, their hands grabbing the poster and the group of people shows that being together (unity) can provide change. This movement was created to defend the black people of America because of the social injustice they receive such as police brutality. The Washington Post  analyzed there were 385 fatal police shootings in the United States that occurred in 2015 and 40% of the 60 unarmed people who had been fatally shot were black in the month of August. News.Mic identified that blacks were to be killed at 3 times the rate of whites and other minorities. In addition, 98% of these events did not end with police officers charged with the crime.
