Welcome!

Hello there!

My name is Breanna Harris and I am a junior at Georgia State University. I am majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Race and Urban Studies, and I am minoring in English. During my college career, I have served as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, a Spotlight Programs Board volunteer, and I have also had the opportunity to volunteer regularly with the Midtown Assistance Center, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to working citizens in Atlanta with low income.

The university that I attend is located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. Needless to say, there is always something to do. Whether it is attending a festival or visiting attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium or the World of Coca-Cola, there is never a dull moment when you keep an open mind.

Although I was born in Atlanta, I have spent the majority of my life in a town that is about 30 minutes away from the city. Despite the short distance, the two locations are almost nothing alike. Recognizing the difference between where I was and where I wanted to be, I set my sights on attending Georgia State University to get a better grasp on what Atlanta has to offer.

Following graduation, I plan to pursue a career in Journalism as a writer and/or editor for a magazine. I also plan to continue to work and volunteer for non-profit organizations that seek to help out low-income citizens in the Atlanta area and beyond.
