My Spin

A graduate course intended for both MA and PhD students, this course will serve as an introduction to the theories and practice in the field of technical writing, one of the fastest-growing fields within English. It aims at preparing you with a sound theoretical knowledge as well as practical design skills so that you will be prepared for either a technical writing career in the industry or further study at the PhD level. We’ll devote roughly half of the class time to theoretical discussions of the leading theories in the field and half of the time to practicing various technical writing designs. Prior knowledge about and experience in the field will be helpful but not required.
