When you start building your online portfolio, ask yourself some questions:
- What job am I aiming for?
- What skill set do I possess?
- What sets me apart from other job candidates?
- How can my online portfolio best represent my skill set and my uniqueness?
- Who is my intended audience, and what are their expectations?
- What content should I include in the portfolio?
- What tone and voice should I use to represent myself?
- What’s the best format to present my portfolio content?
Content-wise, your portfolio could include, but is not limited to, the following:
- A good, concise welcome message
- A good professional profile
- Your resume
- Sample works that best reflect your abilities
- A bio
- A good photo of yourself in professional attire
- A really good tagline that summarizes your best credentials
