About

April Storm

April Storm is a student at Georgia State University (GSU), in Atlanta. She is majoring in journalism and a minor in economics.

She first discovered her interests in writing articles and gathering information in her final year of middle school. Here, Storm credits her inspiration to become a journalist to her general journalism teacher Mr. Whitney.

He passionately dedicated his time by respectfully critiquing and demonstrating ways students could improve their writing skills and find their unique styles.

Storm admires his actions as he extraordinarily worked tirelessly to aid students all while he was rapidly losing sight in both eyes.

In high school Storm solidified her love of sharing and delivering news to friends and classmates during morning discussions.

She received high marks in academics and achieved perfect attendance throughout high school and graduated with honors.

As a member of the Key Club she did various volunteer work but the most substantial activity involved tutoring elementary and older students for a church.

Storm gained experience in time management, leadership and multitasking skills during her time as a church tutor. Her dedication paid off as most of the students she tutored saw a dramatic increase in their grades.

Now in college, she continues her commitment to academic success. Alpha Lambda Delta society recognized her freshmen-year achievements with a 3.7 GPA. She is also a member of the Student Alumni Association.

Storm is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, The National Society of Leadership and Success who recognizes a select group of students who maintain top grades.

She is interested in pursuing video game journalism, or economics/business journalism at some point in her career. Ultimately Storm hopes to apply her skills acquired in writing, video editing and problem solving, as an investigative journalist for a local news station. In the future, she plans to use this experience to create her own digital or traditional magazine.
