The Fox theater is a busy multipurpose theater that is heavily crowded on the weekends. It is located at 660 Peachtree Street NE in Atlanta Georgia. The building has housed the Fox Theater since 1929, Christmas day where they played the first Disney movie starring Micky Mouse in “Steamboat Willie”. I will be examining the outside architecture of the building.

Upon walking up to the very large building from the outside you are greeted with a large red sign about 30 feet up that spell out “fox” in large bright yellow and green bulbs that each flash on and off rapidly. Below the red sign is a rectangular screen that flashes different words that say “fox theater”, “Coca-Cola”, “Delta” and many others. Many people walk by or go in the building, and cars back up in traffic in front. Underneath the large rectangle looking up there seems to be some kind of design in yellow bulbs, possibly stars. that flash from being the design to being squares. This front end of the building looks less worn than the rest of the building. There are four multicolored cloths hanging from different poles that are about six feet long angled down at the top front of the building. Closer to the bottom of the front there are arches that slope into the digital screen that also have intricate gold designs.

Closer to the entrance there is a smaller gold building structure under the main building. Red cloth drapes from the inside to the left and right covering all of the glass windows. The window itself has a small silver hole with slits through it. There are intricate designs on the outside of the building. Behind this front entrance is a large weathered brick building. There is another floor that is elevated higher than the front of the building that has glass panels that are divided up into 20 smaller squares with darker colored brick above forming a triangle above each. There are also darker bricks below the glass that form a diamond. Throughout this entire floor there are horizontal stripes about six bricks high of lighter bricks and then the same amount of darker bricks in another stripe. There are nine light stripes and eight darker stripes. Under this floor in the foreground there are different entrances framed in wood and small glass pieces  that is rectangular at the bottom and more dome like at the top. There are large circular domes towards the back that extend upward into spikes at the top, spire like.
