#JustThink… Spirituality (BlogPost #9)

JustThink… Spirituality.

Spirituality can be defined many different ways being that it is such a broad concept, a concept that reflects on the individual alone. It is a universal experience that happens to each and every one of us. I would say, we all just perceive it differently. Just like how, from a far off distance you can see a building, and it may look smaller to you rather than if you were to look at it from standing ten feet away.

We view it through our lens of life(eyes&mind) differently. Essentially, though, spirituality includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, a connection that makes us feel connected to each and everyone and thing. It’s the sense of feeling that there is more to this earth than what we can see, hear, feel, smell, and touch. It is sense of asking why? A concept that allows the individual to grow in all areas of their life. From physical to mental. A feeling upon acting on what we know. Spirituality is a way of making life better in all forms. It breeds love, understanding, and compassion. It promotes a universal understanding. It is a concept that unites rather than divides. A feeling that there is a divine power at hand while we live our day to day life working in the background.

Some people may find their spirituality in establishments like the church, mosque, temple or synagogue, as others may find spirituality in the comforts of their homes. Some may even find their spirituality out within nature. And as you grow older, as you develop more, as you experience more life experiences, and as you continue to journey into standing in your truth, and finally like the days continue to change, your definition of spirituality may change. Change to adapting to your own experiences and earthy relationships.

“The spiritual dimension tries to be in harmony with the universe, and strives for answers about the infinite, and comes into focus when the person faces emotional stress, physical illness, or death”. -Nurses Ruth Beckmann Murray and Judith Proctor Zenter
