We will earn points for our work and participation throughout the course and at the end of the semester, the amount of points we have will determine the grade we receive. (Earning at least 2,500 points guarantees an automatic A)

The submission form is where we submit our work after posting it to our blog.

Where on the course website can you find an overview of what’s due and the readings for each unit?
Under the menu item titled “Calendar”, you can scroll down to “Units Overview” and find the assignments and readings for the units.

What is the best way to see an overview of what’s due each week?
You can go to the Calendar drop down menu again and go to “Weekly Overview” to see what is due weekly.

What is the attendance policy?
We earn 40 points for each class we attend and lose 40 points for each class we miss.

What are my office hours, and how do you make an appointment to see me outside of class?
Your office hours are MW 9-11 AM. Besides office hours, we can contact you for an appointment via email to meet in person, video chat, or talk on the phone.

How do you earn participation credit? Provide a link to the instructions/guidelines for participation.
Participation credit can be earned by blog posts, individual office hour visits, extra reading summaries, and more here.

How many points can you earn by participating in or organizing a study group session?
Up to 25 points can be earned.

How can you be assured of earning an “A” in this course?
An “A” can be assured by earning 2,500 points.

What are the minimum requirements for earning a passing grade of “C”?
To earn a “C” the minimum requirements are to complete all the major projects, earning the minimum number of points, and missing no more than 2 classes. By doing this, 1,475 points can be earned and will result in a grade of “C”.

What do you do if you’re not sure how to document your participation in order to earn points?
Consult the website for directions on everything in the course and direct any additional questions to the teacher.

What are the Unit 1 readings and which readings will you choose to summarize for Reading Summaries 1&2:
The readings for Unit One are:
• “Architectural Exclusion: Discrimination and Segregation Through Physical Design Of The Built Environment” by Sarah Schindler
• “Tapestry of Space: Domestic Architecture and Underground Communities In Margaret Morton’s Photography Of A Forgotten New York” by Irina Nersessova
• “The Tunnel: The Underground Homeless Of New York City” by Margaret Morton
I will most likely choose to summarize the first and last options.
